I discovered this blog challenge through an acquaintance on Twitter and thought it would be fun to do a variation of it as a year-long series on AYRI. So each month, I’ll complete one post from the list for the challenge.
For September, I’ll get started with 20 Facts About Me.
/ I love to travel. So far I’ve visited 17 countries with way more on my list.
/ Reading is one of my favourite things to do. I read a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. I apparently read very quickly as well, particularly non-fiction.
/ I generally like being short. It’s nice not to have to worry about knocking my head on stuff.
/ I enjoy spoken word poetry. Here is one of my all-time favourites.
/ I currently collect postcards. I’ve also collected stamps and coins in the past.
/ I’m a balloon twister. I don’t do it very often now but I enjoy making balloon sculptures.
/ I love sports. I can watch almost any sport probably except golf 😉 Gymnastics is one of my favourite. This routine by Olga Korbut never gets old!
/ I’m an introvert which is generally obvious to anyone who knows me.
/ I have completed a 60 day sugar-free fast which has been really tough in these last few weeks particularly. Aiming for a 100-day sugar-free fast next.
/ I can be picky about pens. If I have to write something for a special occasion or it’s a big deal, I have a couple of my favourite pens that I use in those situations. While at uni, I liked to use a particular pen for my exams.
/ I love languages. Over the years, it has extended to coding languages for web design and most recently sign language.
/ I love to relax in nature or anywhere with water. I find it calming.
/ I’m a Scottish Country Dancer. I learnt when I lived in Scotland and have been able to continue it in Barbados. Here’s one of my favourite dances: Mairi’s Wedding.
/ I’ve completed Shaun T’s Insanity workout twice. The first time was a huge accomplishment for me as that programme is no joke- 60 days of crazy intense cardio.
/ I have a blue belt in Taekwondo. I’ve also competed at national taekwondo tournaments in the UK.
/ Ice skating is one of my favourite hobbies. Unfortunately, I don’t get to do it often currently being based in Barbados.
/ I’ve been blessed to have participated in short term mission trips in 5 countries so far serving alongside fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
/ I’ve been a Christian for over 15 years. I chose to be re-baptised this year, read more about it here.
/ One of my favourite Bible verses is Romans 15:13:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
/ My all-time favourite post on AYRI (to date) is 30 Quotes to Take into my 30’s. This was actually a hard decision but what I love about this particular post is that no matter where I’m at, whenever I go back and re-read this post and at least one quote hits home for me.
I hope you enjoyed reading through my list and learnt something new. Looking forward to next month’s challenge.
